1 Week Countdown to Phase 2 Handover
We are a week away from handing over Phase Two of Killaire Wood, a beautiful new housing development built for Choice Housing Ireland.
The development is located on the Old Belfast Road, Bangor, conveniently located off the main A2 road into Bangor. 106 houses are being built in total by EHA, with 11 handed over so far.
November will be a month of handovers with 44 properties going to tenants from Phase 2 and 3.
23 properties are being handed over in 1 week’s time on the 14th of November and 21 more homes will be handed over a week after that on the 21st November. The remaining Phases 4 and 5 will be handed over in the New Year.
To ensure a smooth transition for the tenants into their new homes, some of which have been made specifically for their needs, the Contract Manager has arranged for several of the properties to be available 1 week early. This means the necessary work to furnish the house can be completed, meaning the tenant can move in very comfortably on the day of handover.
Contract Manager, Robin McClure commented;
“It is a busy week on site as we complete the final works on Phase 2, and prepare Phase 3 for handover the week after. I think it is important to go that extra mile when handing over to new tenants, it means the transition can be as smooth as possible.”
Paula Conway, Senior Development Officer Choice Housing commented;
“From the beginning of this build it was clear that EHA understood Choice’s vision for this project. EHA’s Contract Manager brought a wealth of social housing experience to the table and was instrumental in the co-ordination and management of the many and varied issues that have arisen on a building project of this scale.”
“Old Belfast Road is Choice’s first development project with EHA and the successful completion of Phase 1 represents the fruits of a new relationship built on mutual respect, trust and professionalism.”
