World Mental Health Day 2024 – Lighthouse Charity
World Mental Health day is approaching on 10th October 2024. At EHA we like to take a moment to remind everyone about the importance of mental health and well-being, as well as site talks and events throughout the year. It is important to take time to reflect, reach out, and support one another, especially within industries like ours, where pressures can often be high.
Did you know:
> Every year there are over 82,000 new cases of work related illness that can be directly related to working within the construction sector
> Over 2.4 million work days are lost each year due to injury or illness within the industry
> Every day within the UK 2 construction workers take their own life
> Last year there was 30 fatalities on construction sites across the UK
> Stress, depression or anxiety account for 20% of all work related illness in construction
> Over 46% of all occupational cancer cases in the UK are directly relatable to working within the construction sector
> Every year there are over 2000 major accidents that incapacitate the worker in such away they cannot return to work.
We understand that the construction industry can present unique challenges, which is why we want to ensure that The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is highlighted as an available resource.
