The Central Gardens site was an old mechanics garage and yard which EHA took from planning to completion. We demolished the existing structure while retaining the façade, which also contained asbestos and had some contaminated ground.
The development was an 8 story RC frame. This sat over two levels of basement car parking and one level of commercial units on the ground, totalling 11 storeys.
The upper levels consisted of 76 apartments, made up of 1, 2 & 3 bed units.
The facade retention was complex as it needed to be retained while descending two story’s on the same grid line. The remainder of the façade consisted of mainly brickwork style cladding and aluminium panelling.
EHA purchased this site, obtained planning and carried out the construction and sales in-house as a self funded project.
